David Rees demonstrating the fascinating art of splitting lengths of ash in readiness for making a rustic gate. Several of those watching were encouraged to have a go with great success. Several of the ash trees in Weaveley Furze were too close together so it was an ideal opportunity to thin them and use the wood for the gate.
